It’s been emotional!

Things are a little bit raw emotion wise with the young people at the shelter right now as we’re into our last few days now but everyone is working flat out to get everyone housed. Myself, I’m pleased to say, are gonna be doing the last four night shifts, (one last night and three more to go)….it’s gonna be a well emotional one on Monday morning and it’s been a hell of a ride.

I’d just like to take a moment to thank all the volunteers and others that have helped in any and many ways throughout that ride, but most of all to all the young people that have enriched my life by placing their trust in me &/or just getting to know me and most of all letting me get to know them.

Here’s to you and your futures….may they shine bright!

The Pilion Trust has a new website.

I’m pleased to announce the Pilion Trust’s new website has recently opened, it’s obviously early days and there’s not too much on there at the moment, but with the amount of stuff the Pilion crew do it won’t stay that way for long! But if you need somewhere to point people for information on this amazing organisation that I’m happy to say I work with it’s the place to go, so here’s the link:  http://piliontrust.com enjoy!

Open letter to Crisis (at Christmas)

It’s a shame this whole shutting on 30th thing. As an ex-homeless person I can categorically state that New Year is just as bad a time as Xmas so what’s another day. Maybe that day could used to find people somewhere to stay after you close rather than referring on to services that are already stretched rather than just shutting up ‘shop’ and cracking on with fund raising for another year. I was very disappointed with something I heard this Xmas concerning Crisis’ attitude towards grass roots organisations, (who they later turned to by the way). Maybe, no scratch that, IT IS time for the major ‘players’ in Homelessness, Drug and Alcohol services to remember why they are there and start working as a team, (EVERYONE together for the purpose we’re supposed to working for) rather than carrying on quite frankly no better than some of the financial services that have quite rightly under fire in recent months. If you would like me to supply a list of agenda items for your next exec meeting I’d be happy to oblige as I really think you need some fresh input as some in your ranks seem to think you, (and your ‘partner’ agencies) have a right to point to fingers……well sorry to say this all but you really let me down this year so mine is pointing straight back. I thought WE were the ones really in it together, but it seems not!

Welcome to the world of the real cockneyreject!

…..and welcome to my new blog. I say “new blog” cos those of you that know (of) me probably already know my other blogs, http://anarchistdaze.wordpress.com and https://network23.org/anarchycomputercorp and possibly some of the other groups I’m involved with to varying degrees, Hackney Anarchist Group https://network23.org/hackneyanarchists, World Homeless Action Movement (Day) http://worldhomelessactionmovement.org http://worldhomelessactionday.org and Anon Anarchist Action http://aaa.status.net obviously I’ll be mentioning them now and then in posts but oherwise there’s no plan for this blog right now. It’s not a particularly ‘political’ blog, blog about one particular subject or anything, it’s a blog for me to post in as and when I find a reason or feel to chat shit.
